Installing the Footrests on the WANDLER Electric Scooter

WANDLER footrests can be retrofitted to compatible WANDLER electric scooters. They are used to comfortably rest your feet while riding. Depending on the model, the footrest can be mounted with or without an additional fixing plate.

Important during assembly: The pre-drilled holes are not always visible from the outside, as they are sometimes located behind the side sticker. The holes must therefore be carefully exposed through the sticker. In addition, the controller compartment must be opened for assembly.

Important Safety Notice:
The footrests are solely intended for resting your feet while riding. They are not suitable for standing on, getting on, leaning against, or as a step. Incorrect loading can damage components and impair riding safety.

For which WANDLER models are the footrests intended?

The pre-drilled holes for the footrests are only provided for WANDLER vehicles from model year 2025 with a permissible total weight of 195 kg.

Please check before assembly whether your vehicle has the corresponding mounting points. For older vehicles or models without pre-drilled holes, assembly is not intended.

You can find the suitable footrests here: WANDLER Footrests for Electric Scooters .

1. Locate the Footrest Mount

The footrest mount is located on the side of the vehicle. The mounting hole is often not directly visible because it is behind the side sticker. The position must therefore be carefully felt and then cleanly opened.

2. Check for Second Hole for the Fixing Plate

On certain newer model versions, there is an additional second hole for the fixing plate. This fixing plate can further stabilize the footrest and secure it against twisting.

This second hole may also be covered by the sticker. Only open the area that is actually needed and avoid unnecessary cuts in the sticker.

3. Carefully Expose the Holes Through the Sticker

For assembly, the existing holes must be exposed through the sticker. Use a suitable pointed tool and work slowly and carefully.

Important when exposing:
  • only open existing holes
  • do not cut large areas into the sticker
  • work carefully to avoid unnecessary tearing of the sticker
  • check if a second hole for the fixing plate is present

4. Open the Controller Compartment

For proper attachment of the footrest, the controller compartment must be opened. The footrest is not just attached from the outside but must be fastened accessibly from the inside.

When opening the controller compartment, be careful not to pull, pinch, or damage any cables. Place screws and covers neatly aside so that nothing is lost during reassembly.

5. Mount the Footrest with or without Fixing Plate

The footrest can be mounted with or without a fixing plate, depending on the model version. If your vehicle has the second hole, the fixing plate can be used additionally.

Position the footrest on the outside, align it neatly, and fasten it evenly. The screws should be tight without binding components or pinching cables in the controller area.

6. Check Seat and Folding Function

After assembly, it must be checked whether the footrest is firmly seated and can be folded in and out smoothly. The footrest must not be loose and should not twist uncontrollably.

Also, check that the controller compartment is correctly closed and no cables have been pinched. Only then should the vehicle be used again.
